Assembler (Looms Department)

Location: Chesterfield

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am–3:30pm

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

Responsibilities of an Assembler:

* Precise hand-soldering of small electronic components

* Building sub-assemblies and supporting control panel builds

* Bench-testing systems and carrying out diagnostic checks

* Inspecting and quality-checking your own work

* Following detailed assembly instructions and maintaining accurate records

* Reporting faults and raising non-conformities

* Taking part in 5S initiatives and continuous improvement activities

* Operate loom machinery safely and efficiently

* Monitor production quality and make adjustments as needed

* Carry out basic machine maintenance

* Work closely with production teams to meet daily targets

* Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Experience and Skills:

* xjnqpsq Previous experience in wiring harness / cable assembly / looms production

* Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics

* Skilled in crimping, soldering, terminating, and cable preparation

* Strong understanding of EMI considerations, shielding, and grounding

* High attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances

* Experience in electronics, aerospace, automotive, or similar precision industries is highly desirable

Desirable:

* NVQ in Electronics/Manufacturing

* CAN bus diagnostics or bench test experience

* Experience in bespoke, low-volume or high-mix assembly environments
