Vintage 1970s Pearl B4514/4214 COB Snare Drum 14x5 Stewart Copeland

Up for sale is my beautiful, rare and highly collectible 1970s Pearl model B4514/4214 chrome-over-brass (COB) 14" x 5" snare drum, made in Japan. This is the exact vintage model made famous by Stewart Copeland of The Police, who used it to track the vast majority of their iconic studio catalogue.

It features the distinct three-groove centre bead pattern and standard Gladstone-style throw-off. It is un-modified and in excellent condition throughout.

Details:

Outstanding mirror-like chrome finish with very minimal pitting or scratching for its age. As seen in the close-up under side photo of the snare drum, you can clearly see the genuine internal golden brass shining through.

Hardware: Complete and functional 10-lug design, original hoops. Features the original adjustable internal muffler tone control knob and the classic stamped Pearl script logo badge.

Heads & Wires: Fitted with a classic Remo Ambassador coated top head in great condition, with a clean Remo Ambassador snare side bottom head and responsive, Evans PureSound snare wires.


Functionality: The Gladstone throw-off operates smoothly, and all tension rods tune up perfectly. Ready to play or display.
