Job description:

Proactive Personnel are recruiting for basic CNC Operators who will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, accurate measurement, and adherence to safety and production procedures. All training is provided on site.

Key Responsibilities

* Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines, and machining centres.

* Load raw materials and correctly position workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools.

* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

* Select and verify appropriate CNC programs, tools, speeds, and feeds.

* Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.

* Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier callipers, micrometres, gauges, and height gauges.

* Ensure manufactured parts meet required dimensions, tolerances, and surface-finish specifications.

* Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic machine adjustments when required.

* Identify machine or quality problems and report faults to the supervisor or maintenance team.

* Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately.

* Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.

* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area.

* Follow company health, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

* Meet production targets while minimizing scrap, rework, and machine downtime.

Qualifications and Skills

* Previous experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred.

* Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.

* Knowledge of CNC machining processes, cutting tools, and basic machine setup is preferred.

* Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment.

* Basic understanding of CNC programs and machine controls.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

* Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

* Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.

ALL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED ON AN EXTENSIVE 4 WEEK COURSE CARRIED OUT AT THE CLIENTS TELFORD BRANCH IN OCTOBER. xjnqpsq YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO TRAVEL TO TELFORD FOR THIS BUT WILL BE PAID FOR TRAVEL.

Once training is completed you will be on the below rotating shifts:

06:00 - 14:25 - £12.71ph

15:00 - 23:25 - £14.25ph
