Job lot 168 Bakelite Door Knobs / Handles + some Finger Plates

Description

Set of approx 168 vintage Bakelite door knobs / handles ( the odd one or two might not be bakelite, a couple of them feel lighter and maybe plastic) + 1 oval shape back plate ( with some damage) and 7 small knob backing plates and 14 white backing plates. ( this is an estimate from a quick count - it maybe one or two in the other direction - plaese don't hold this against me !!)

There are 28 white knobs (quite discoloured) and a couple or so pastel coloured knobs. The rest are traditional bakelite brown with the odd black knob (that maybe plastic).

Please note quite a few of these knobs may have small chips / signs of damage and several of them are stuck to the metal splines and will need some work to remove which is not an easy job.

They are in used condition, in need of cleaning up and by no means perfect, this is reflected in the price at less than £2 a knob and the plates and backing rings not taken into account. An average pair can sell for £10 - £15 with particularily nice examples at £20 - £40 a pair.

Some of the knobs have paint on them and the colour varies. Some are slightly damaged / chipped as mentioned.

There is some really nice knobs and handles in this lot.
