SENIOR HOUSEKEEPER

NR THIRSK, NORTH YORKSHIRE

40-45 hrs per week -5days Monday to Friday with flexibility to work occasional weekend.

8/9am start – 4/5pm finish.

Open to Live out or Live in applications.

Essential Requirements: Previous Private House Housekeeping/Laundry Experience, ideally family cooking and a true Dog Lover, Friendly, Flexibility to cover an odd wend during the year and attention to detail, well presented. Team player. Driver with own car essential.

A superb position for our long-term clients, working on a large Country Estate approx 4 miles from Thirsk, North Yorkshire. We are looking for a candidate ideally with previous private house experience who has excellent attention to detail, who is proactive, a team player and flexible. All staff on this busy estate are very long term and work closely together. A part time cleaner who has been with the family for 10yrs is also employed 4 half days per week.

• Daily cleaning and presentation of the interior to high standards.

• Care of specialist finishes – Marble, Wood, Granite etc

• Making beds and changing linens, preparing guest rooms and

• Sorting, washing, unloading laundry – confident with delicate fabrics and handwashing.

• Ironing to a high standard.

• Controlling housekeeping supplies, ordering and local errands

• Shared care and walking of 2 medium size dogs within the estate. True dog lover is essential.

• Ideally Fresh family level cooking, ( eg light lunches, salads, snacks) desirable but not essential, however a large kitchen garden is available with wide range of fruits and vegetables. Paradise to a hobby cook.

• Organise external contractors, oversee interior repairs and general maintenance.

• General assistance during any entertaining with informal service & kitchen assistance to the chef, especially during the shoot season.

This vacancy is open to both Live in and Live out local candidates. Suitable private accommodation will be provided depending on the needs of the individual.

Salary Negotiable between £40-45,000 Gross depending on previous experience and if cooking or not. 2 days off per week. Average 40-45 hrs per week. Start and finish times are flexible depending on individual needs. Occasional weekend working will be required but planned well in advance. ASAP Start.
