Overview

An Ultra High Net Worth family based in Mayfair is seeking an exceptional Senior Laundress / Wardrobe Care Specialist to take full responsibility for the care, preservation and presentation of an extensive couture and luxury wardrobe.

This is a senior, specialist role requiring impeccable standards, deep technical expertise in high-end garment care, and absolute discretion. The successful candidate will be highly experienced, methodical, and take genuine pride in their craft.

Key Responsibilities

Full responsibility for the laundering, care and long-term preservation of an extensive collection of couture, bespoke and luxury garments

Expert handling of delicate and specialist fabrics, including silk, cashmere, wool, leather, suede, embroidery, beading and vintage pieces

In-depth understanding of designer labels, couture construction and garment finishes, ensuring all items are treated appropriately

Hand-washing, stain removal, steaming, pressing and finishing to five-star hotel and couture standards

Liaising with specialist dry cleaners, tailors, conservators and restoration experts as required

Meticulous wardrobe organisation, seasonal rotation and storage, including archival and climate-appropriate techniques

Packing and unpacking wardrobes for international travel, ensuring garments arrive in pristine condition

Care of household linens, towels and soft furnishings to the same exacting standard

Stock control of laundry products, wardrobe supplies and equipment

Maintenance of laundry machinery and prompt reporting of any issues

Working closely with the House Manager and wider household team to ensure seamless service

Essential Experience & Skills

Minimum 5–10 years’ experience as a Laundrist or Wardrobe Specialist within UHNW private households, luxury yachts, royal households or five-star hotels

Demonstrable expertise in couture and luxury garment care

Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability

Absolute discretion, professionalism and loyalty

Calm, methodical and highly reliable, with the ability to work independently

Strong technical knowledge of luxury fabric care, stain treatment and garment preservation
