Description
Live-in room offered in exchange for light childcare help, plus a fair hourly rate on top. I'm a single dad in Wolvercote, Oxford, starting a teacher training course in September. I'm looking for a reliable, warm person to help with taking my daughter to primary school and light childcare, in exchange for a private room and a weekly wage.
The room
Private, furnished bedroom in a modern terraced house in Wolvercote
Own space, bed, desk and storage
Shared kitchen and living space
Kitchen access and food provided — shared household meals, help yourself to the kitchen
The hours (approx. 10/week)
Monday to Friday, 07:00–08:30: breakfast, getting my daughter ready, and taking her to primary school
One weekday evening: quiet time supervision — study help, music practice, or playtime (evening window to be agreed)
What I'm looking for
Someone patient, punctual and comfortable around a young child
Own transport not required (school is walkable and frequent buses are close by)
Non-smoker
Happy with a DBS check (I can help arrange this)
Available from mid September
What's on offer
£12.71/hour (National Living Wage), paid weekly. Based on 10 hrs/week, that's £127.10/week, with optional additional hours available if useful for both of us once term starts
A settled, family household — not a party house
Flexibility if your own schedule changes term to term
Suitable for a reliable university student
Primary School has breakfast club starting 7.45am, in case early drop-off is required some weekdays
If this sounds like a good fit, message me with a bit about yourself and your availability. Happy to answer questions before arranging a chat or visit.
