Description
LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER / COOK / COMPANION
Private large family home – Live-in position with private bedroom and ensuite bathroom.
£400 pw
Full Time with one day a week off - negotiable
We are looking for a kind, capable and grounded live-in housekeeper to support our elderly parents in their home.
Our father (80) is undergoing cancer treatment and our mother is living with dementia. They already have professional carers who attend for personal care. We are therefore looking for someone whose primary role is to maintain a calm, well-run home and provide companionship.
Main Responsibilities: Daily cooking (healthy, nutritious home-style meals)
Household cleaning and laundry are essential
Keeping the home organised and running smoothly
Being present in the home to let carers in as needed
Sitting with and keeping Mum company once core duties are complete
Working cooperatively and respectfully alongside professional carers
Proactively noticing what needs doing and getting on with it
The Right Person Will Be: Warm, patient and genuinely caring, calm and emotionally steady, proactive and practical, comfortable around dementia.
Able to cook confidently
House-proud, clean and organised
A team player, collaborative and respectful
This role is about creating a peaceful, supportive home environment. We need someone who understands that teamwork is essential and that the priority is our parents’ wellbeing.
Experience in elderly care or dementia-friendly environments is highly desirable
Accommodation in a large detached house with garden. Meals provided.
This role may particularly suit a mature, nurturing female candidate. If you are kind, steady, and looking for a meaningful long-term role within a respectful family home, we would love to hear from you.
