Housekeeper / Laundress – Essex / Home Counties – £40,000–£55,000 GPA

Description

Silver and Bow are looking for an experienced Housekeeper / Laundress to join a lovely family in Essex. This is a hands-on role within a beautiful, large property, working alongside the Head Housekeeper to maintain the home to an exceptional standard.

Duties will include daily cleaning, laundry, ironing, tidying and changing bed linen. You will also assist with light meal preparation, such as chopping and heating food, as well as answering the door for deliveries and running occasional errands. There may also be some light pet care.

The family are kind, friendly and approachable, and are looking for someone who is reliable, professional and detail-oriented. You must be child- and pet-friendly and be comfortable around large, friendly dogs.

Duties & Responsibilities


Daily housekeeping and cleaning to a high standard



Laundry and ironing



Care of delicate fabrics and materials



Room resets, making beds and general tidying



Light meal preparation, e.g. chopping, heating food



Answering the door and receiving deliveries



Helping with pet care

Running errands as required

We are looking for:



Previous private household experience



A reliable, practical and team-oriented approach



Good knowledge of caring for delicate fabrics and materials



Excellent attention to detail



Professional, discreet and trustworthy



Child- and pet-friendly, with confidence around large dogs



Driving license (bonus)



Excellent, checkable references

Days/Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday. Hours can be 08:00–16:00 or 10:00–18:00, with flexibility to suit the successful candidate.

Salary: £45,000–£55,000 gross per annum
