Experienced Housekeeper Wanted – 4 Afternoons per Week

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and proactive housekeeper to join our busy family home for 4 afternoons a week, approximately 4.30–7.00pm.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is able to work independently and can help keep the household running smoothly.

Main responsibilities will include:

Laundry, including washing, folding and putting clothes away
Ironing
General/light cleaning and keeping the home tidy and organised
Taking responsibility for the care and upkeep of the home
Helping with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks
Helping with general household organisation
Being comfortable working around older children (ages 9, 11, 15 and 16)
Being comfortable around our family dog

We are particularly looking for someone who is proactive, organised, trustworthy and able to use their initiative — someone who sees what needs doing and gets on with it without needing to be given instructions for every task.

Essential:

Previous housekeeping experience
Some English
Legal right to work
Previous references that we can contact
Reliability and good attention to detail
Comfortable working around children and a dog

Desirable:

Previous experience working in a kosher household
Experience with food preparation in a kosher kitchen
Experience working for a busy family
Someone who is confident taking responsibility for the smooth running of the household

There may also be opportunities for additional babysitting and cooking/food preparation on an ad hoc basis, if mutually suitable.

We are looking for someone who is likely to become a valued and trusted part of our household, rather than simply someone to complete a list of cleaning jobs.
