Description

We are seeking an energetic and friendly couple to cover the Estate Worker roles of housekeeper and groundsman for a private country estate in North Yorkshire. The successful couple will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the property, providing high standards of housekeeping, property maintenance and year-round garden care. A high level of natural initiative, a sharp eye for detail and a flexible attitude are absolute musts..

Housekeeper Duties

Managing a large home that frequently welcomes guests.

Core Tasks: Cleaning, tidying, polishing, laundry, ironing, bedding, bathrooms and guest prep.

Maintenance: Managing fires, basic interior care, and arranging/ overseeing tradesmen.

Groundsman / Gardener Duties

Maintaining large gardens, lawns, and a sizeable kitchen garden.

Garden Care: Floral/ kitchen gardening, rhododendrons, rockery, mowing, strimming, weeding, and hedge trimming.

Estate Care: Basic tree work, gutter/drain clearing, security, water management, and safe machinery operation.

Handyman Tasks: Light painting, log stock, over-seeing the heating system, and basic repairs.

Working Hours

40 hours per week, generally Monday – Friday with occasional weekends required during the shooting season (fully offset with time off in lieu). House Sitting required when the principals are away.
