Description
It's with a very heavy heart that I need to rehome my amazing boy, Aro. This is through no fault of his own.
He's 10 months old, mixed breed (Shepherd x American staffy / bully breeds), absolutely stunning boy, magnificent brindle coat, and very sweet natured. Vaccinations, flee, worm, tick, microchipped and neutered.
He's house trained, walks beautifully on his lead, and knows basic commands. He's a clever boy and learns fast. He's quiet in the house, not destructive, can be left alone without rearranging the furniture! He's good with other dogs, very friendly to people, total cuddle monster. He's a big lad so best suited to a home without little ones he might knock over.
He's such a sweet boy and this is a terrible situation to find ourselves in.
After half a dozen successful introductions with my resident dog, with lots of friendly play, walks, and zoomies together, I adopted him. It has become clear however that my resident dog is not accepting of him indoors at home at all, despite giving this time to settle. She has become extremely anxious and aggressive towards him, leading to the need to keep them mostly separate in the house. I don't want Aro to have this experience and become reactive to dogs, but as my current dog has attacked him several times now with no signs of improvement, this can't be allowed to continue. He is a docile and gentle boy, it seems my dog of 6 years clearly can't cohabit with another.
He deserves a home environment he can mix and play and be spoiled in, which I had hoped to provide.
The best I can do for him now is not take him back to a kennel environment after he's settled so well into his first home, and make sure he goes to a loving home with someone who can provide the space and attention he deserves. It breaks my heart to do this, but I have to prioritise my resident dog unfortunately.
He really is a magnificent dog, please message me any questions and some information about yourself and the type of home you can provide before any introductions to him. I want him to have the best life with someone who'll love and look after him. Thanks.
