Magnificent boy, 11 months Urgent rehome

It's with a very heavy heart that I need to rehome my amazing boy, Aro. This is through no fault of his own.

He's 11 months old, mixed breed (guessing Shepherd x staffy type breeds), absolutely stunning boy, magnificent brindle coat, and very sweet natured. Vaccinations up-to-date, flee, worm, tick, microchipped and neutered.

He's house trained, walks beautifully on his lead, and knows basic commands, his recall is also coming on well, & he loves a game of fetch. He's a clever boy and learns fast. He's quiet in the house, not destructive, can be left alone without rearranging the furniture! He's good with other dogs, very friendly to people, little bit wary of children (hasnt met many). He's a total cuddle monster who doesn't know how big he is. He's a big lad so best suited to a home without little ones he might knock over.

He's such a sweet boy and this is a terrible situation to find ourselves in.

After half a dozen successful introductions with my resident dog, with lots of friendly play, walks, and zoomies together, I adopted him. It has become clear however that my resident dog is not accepting of him at home at all, despite giving this time to settle. She became extremely anxious and aggressive towards him, with several altercations leading to the need to keep them mostly separate in the house for both their safety. Her aggression has subsided however she is now withdrawn and timid, experiencing ongoing skin and allergy flare ups, sterile cystitis and incontinence due to stress.

We've seen our vet to treat her physical symptoms and a canine behaviour specialist in terms of anxiety management and integration advice. However due to side effects I'm not prepared to medicate her on anti anxiety meds long term to accommodate another dog.

Both dogs welfare is being negatively impacted, so a reluctant decision has had to be made. He is a fun and gentle boy, and hasn't done anything 'to' my other dog at all, but it seems my resident dog of 6 years clearly can't cohabit with another.

He deserves a home environment he can mix and play and be spoiled in, which I had hoped to provide.

The best I can do for him now is make sure he goes to a loving home with someone who can provide the space and attention he deserves. Lots of adventures and socialisation. It breaks my heart to do this, but I have to prioritise both dogs wellbeing.
