Description

🐾 Bingo a Lab Mixed Breed – Loving Home Required 🐾

We are looking for the right home for our beautiful 7 month Lab mix, Bingo.

Dad is a KC reg lab. Mum is a lab mix rescue - possibly corso genetics in there.

I'm a mum to a 2yo and 12yo and work part-time.

At around 15 weeks, Bingo began 'puppy woofing' at strangers, and this led into barking and lunging to create distance. At this point, when we walked as a family he would cry and pull out of his harness and chew on lead.

This resulted in me only being able to walk him on my own while the kids sat in car and I was close-by. It was out of control by 4 months. His training is now under control after lots and lots of positive reinforcement and he is doing so so well. However, he doesn't warm up to people outside or anyone who would enter his home space.

He very rarely reacts when we are just 1-1. He's a joy to walk and I enjoy the training (123 walking and rewarding calm with a YES!).

It's just not sustainable that my kids can't come along and it may take many years before the walks can be structured in the way he would benefit and need.

He is very food motivated and eager to check in on walks for a treat and a YES! He would thrive with calm, steady direction. But could regress in the wrong home or with the wrong handler.

It would be important to note that he is very slow to warm up to people. His mum was a 12 month rescue who was anxious and two of his litter puppies stayed with the adopter of the mother - they are also anxious dogs who are making progress.

Bingo may always need some management but not in an all consuming way. Just building up his threshold and gently leading him. He reminds me of a soldier - calm, steady and focused command/direction needed. He loves to check in and enjoys being asked to 'leave' birds etc.

He would suit someone with experience of large breeds, possibly corso breeds who can provide clear guidance, stability, and ongoing structure.

Key Information:

7 months.

Fully house trained.

Affectionate, loyal, and well-mannered in the home. No issues at all inside in terms of destruction or in garden (we have 5ft fences).

Walks well on lead - checks-in regularly.

Understands leave (good impulse control with treats and toys), come and sit

Loves being in car with head out window - doesn't react to people at all when in car, even with his head out window....

Very lazy, loves a lie in.

Lives with cat who he can annoy, but loves.

Not neutered.

In good health.

*** Experienced owner who understands positive reinforcement. He's made huge progress! ****

Adult home only.

Adoption fee is not as important as a good home who can support his needs. All checks to keep him safe would be paramount.

Any questions, please get in touch.
