Cocker spaniel

Description

I’m looking to rehome my 2.5-year-old Cocker Spaniel. This hasn’t been an easy decision, but due to recent health issues and concerns around her behaviour with my cats, I need to find her a more suitable home where she can thrive.

About her:
• 2.5 years old Cocker Spaniel
• Microchipped
• Not spayed
• Has been around children since birth and has always been good with them
• Very affectionate, cuddly, and loves attention
• Knows basic commands: sit, stay, paw, lay down, jump, spin
• Sleeps in her crate at night
• Toilet trained (though she can occasionally pee in her bed when very excited)

Things to be aware of:
• She cannot live with cats – she has gone for mine on a couple of occasions
• She is an anxious and nervous dog, especially with new people
• If you come to view her, she will bark a lot at first
• She needs time and patience before she feels comfortable being touched
• She pulls constantly on the lead despite trying different leads and approaches
• She may bark at people when out on walks
• She has a sensitive stomach – she does best sticking to her usual food, as other foods tend to give her diarrhoea

Ideal home:
• No cats or small animals
• Someone with experience of the breed or anxious dogs
• A patient owner willing to continue working on her confidence and training

She really is a loving dog who enjoys cuddles and being close to her people, but she does come with her challenges, as many Cocker Spaniels can. I want to be completely honest so she finds the right match.

This is a very sad decision, and her wellbeing is my priority. I’m in no rush and want to find the right home for her.
