Description

We had to make a difficult decision to rehome our beloved dog of 6 years, Mocha.

She is the most loving dog who absolutely adores people. She weighs 4.5kg and is cat size. Fits on your lap.
She loves to just relax on the sofa but also enjoys camping, long or short walks, fetching a ball, an occasional treat.
In the winter months she’s more than happy to only go out twice a day for a pee just in the front garden. She LOVES to wear a jacket.

This is not a dog that requires lots and lots of exercise but she will enjoy running after a ball.

Mocha has no issues with separation anxiety. She is used to being left alone for 4-8hours (even longer if we had no other choice :( ) and she is not destructive during this time. Instead she lies down in her favourite spot, sleeps loads, engages with her sniffy mat or other treat / mind stimulating toys. (We checked it with a camera)

She loves to play but will not be aggressive if you take her toy away.
She’s too small to rip through any toy really, so we still have almost all of her toys since she was born.

She is microchipped, neutered, has no health issues (checked by a vet 1 week ago), up to date with vaccinations and flea treatments.
In the past she dislocated both of her shoulders and had 2 operations. This is just bad luck not connected to any problem. She also had 2 toes removed as the vet said she could hurt herself in play . She also had a little cyst removed from her face which was not cancerous and she was absolutely fine, I just panicked.
We have her covered with a lifetime cover insurance which costs £18.32 per month and her vet - flea , worming treatments and yearly vaccinations and check ups cost £19.50 per month.
She eats biscuits and wet food. A big bag lasts unbelievably long so we use high quality orijen food.

She is not a fan of other dogs, presumably because of her size she’s just simply scared of them. When another dog is close she will bark at it and will never engage in play.

Also we don’t know why but she doesn’t like to be touched around her back legs.

She became very jealous when our baby was born 18months ago. Currently she’s very stressed and anxious around the baby and shows signs of distress/ aggression- growling, licking of lips, starring.
We had her under care of behaviourist but they suggested that if we are unable to keep them separated at all times then we need to rehome the dog.

I can’t keep them separated because Mocha is not used to staying on her own away from the family in a separate room and ends up crying.

I do not know what she’s like around other animals.

She is not suited to be around little children and would be ideal for an older person who is not planning on big changes to family arrangements.

We would like for her to go to a loving home, someone who can give her love care and attention. Unfortunately we can’t provide it under the circumstances.
