Description

This is Bailey our three year old Chihuahua cross patterdale terrier.

Unfortunately with deep regret we have to re-home him, my partner has recently diagnosed with an incurable condition that has significantly affected her mobility. As a result, we no longer have as much time or energy to give Bailey the attention and exercise he deserves. We also have four young children who can sometimes overwhelm or irritate him, which can cause him to bark or become stressed. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to provide the calm and consistent environment he needs to thrive.

Bailey is generally calm, playful, and affectionate. He enjoys spending time with people and can be very gentle and friendly. However, he can become stressed or reactive when overwhelmed, especially around young children who are noisy or unpredictable. He may bark or growl when he feels annoyed or needs space. With respectful handling and supervision, he does well and shows his sweet, loyal nature.
He knows basic commands and is fully house trained. He’s comfortable and happy in his crate, which he uses as a safe space we leave the door open so he can come and go as he likes including at night time.
He is microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatments.

We would love for Bailey to go to a caring, loving home where he will get the time, attention, and stability he deserves. We are asking for a £300 rehoming fee.
Bailey will also come with his food and water bowls, food tins, toys, crate, bed, and blanket so he can settle comfortably into his new home.
Bailey gets along well with other dogs once he has been properly introduced. He does not have reliable recall, so we keep him on a lead during walks for his safety. Bailey can sometimes show food aggression, so it’s best to feed him separately and avoid handling his food while he’s eating.
Bailey would be best suited to a home with older children or adults who can give him the time, attention, and calm environment he needs. He would do well with people who understand dogs and can provide consistent training, regular exercise, and patience.

This has been a very difficult decision for our family, and we are truly saddened to be rehoming Bailey. We want to make sure he goes to the best possible home, so we will be carefully vetting all applicants to ensure he is placed with someone who can give him the love, time, and attention he deserves.
