Description
Adorable and sweet Boxer male puppy who is 9 months old (1 in August). This is such a hard decision but having to rehome due to a relationship breakdown and I sadly cannot keep him.
He is a wonderful, loving boy who knows multiple commands - is good with kids, cats, other dogs and fully house trained. Great in the car and loves running in the park (recall is at around 70%, so still some work needed there). Typical high energy boxer (his dad is KC boxer and mum is predominantly boxer but has a bit of Staff and Pug in her). He’s very excitable and we’ve taught him to try and stop jumping but sometimes he just can’t help himself!!!
Unfortunately his on-leash walking is a problem and he is strong (around 30kg) so he pulls a lot when on the lead. Due to my relationship breakdown I cannot walk him on my own as he has nearly pulled me over. He walked better with my partner and v nicely for a trainer and someone from doggy daycare, but not with me. I have non-pulling leashes and harnesses, but it is still hard work with these. A professional trainer trialled a slip lead with him which seemed to help, but leash reactivity intensified so I stopped using it.
As he is in his adolescent phase this could continue for some time and he needs someone willing to put in the work. He needs outside space, and preferably someone experienced with larger dogs and/or his breed. It is very important that he goes to the right home, so may negotiate on price if you are a good fit for him and can offer the time, love, patience, commitment and training he needs.
