Description
Unfortunately I'm having to re-home my boy he's only 8mths old & approx 40kg currently, he's a mischievous and a fun loving dog he's 1/2 German & 1/2 Roman he does so far do: sit, down, roll over and stay short distance for treats then good boy to release to get treats..
His recall is average, I normally shake the treat bag and shout sweeties and he'll come running but he's a typical rottie and oh there's a bird or a butterfly and distracted he may change direction.
He prefers ball and thrower over a stick, although don't mind the occasional stick, he's a friendly boy, loves everybody, they're all there to make a fuss of him and him only and loves all dogs, boys and girls but quite often gets told off by the chihuahuas and frenchies (cowers down from them) as he bounces like a kangaroo and it's too much for them, he just don't realise he's so much bigger than them He is also going through the humping stage at the moment people and if the bitches are lush.
He's clean indoors but if have guests over can have a few little tiddly drips where over excited but nothing major..
He does however have seperation anxiety, I have crated him for when I have go out, but he manages to get the tray out and will mess in there due to the anxiety.. and he'll bark whilst gone too.. I do leave the radio on for him and treats whilst gone but he just don't like being alone..
I'm only allowed the one dog where I live, so I don't know if having a companion dog would help with this to help calm him when not there.. (or if there's someone at home all the time or on rotation if more than a one person household) most I've left him for is 2 & 1/2 hrs so far but I don't go out that often due to health reasons so hence haven't left him any longer than that.
Hence my health being the reason for rehoming.. I'm struggling to walk him as often as he should be, one of my conditions is arthritis and tbh I really wasn't expecting it to advance as quickly as it is and I've been in a lot of pain hence this isn't fair on him and don't want it to effect his personality because he's not getting the exercise he really needs. He's to much of a lovely dog for that to happen.
He's had all his puppy vaccinations and has had Advocate each month for his worm and flea treatment and vets have always said whatever I'm doing keep doing as he's a picture of health and a lovely dog.. he's good at the vets, no bad experiences, so happy waggy tails on regular visits for weigh ins etc.
He comes with everything, he has his crate 122cm x 76 cm
He has X3 feed bins x 1 for his food then other two are full of treats and bones and balls etc (he's been thoroughly spoilt ) he has X2 coats a waterproof only and a more shower proof with fleece lining one, collar, lead, and Halti and Halti training lead, grooming kit, crate fan, X2 raiser feed bowl stands with bowls,(one is a slow feeder one) whatever food he has at time of collection (currently on hypoallergenic food called Hunger of the Wolf Puppy Lamb and rice I get from Amazon).. I do also give him some anti yeast treats as he gets bit of that yeasty smell sometimes, I also give him a seaweed powder over his food which is for dental health maintenance, keeping the plaque at bay, also whatever toys he's not managed to kill before rehoming plenty of poo bags, long handled poop scoop, his bed and crate mats etc, he really is fully kitted out.. he has had one trip to groomers before for a shampoo and was a good boy apparently and has also done a one afternoon doggy daycare at kennels where they said he was better in what they called their socials setting..
I will say he has been spoilt he does sleep on my bed at night and does come up on the sofa and he's the biggest foody.. more so at brekkie time than dinner time for some reason but yes the drewl is real, sometimes thick other times like a tap running water, we have a couple of mess towels for that.
I will not be rehoming him with anyone looking to use him as a breed machine and not to any young lads looking for an image dog or fighting dog he deserves so much more than that.. he's been like my baby and so will be being careful where he goes.. also if interested parties have other dog/s then would like them to meet over at a local park first to make sure they all get on well first on neutral territory rather than finding out he's been rehomed again due to them not getting on with each other etc.
No Cats or young children please although he wouldn't hurt a child intentionally he is a big heavy very bouncy dog and could easily accidentally knock a child flying he also does like to hold your hand / lower arm in his mouth to try and take you to scratch between his front legs a child may get scared of that assuming he'd bitten them when he truly hasn't it's just his character and way of getting himself a scratchy chest..
He's not car sick and he's been on buses and in minibus taxis too..
I paid a £1000 for him as a pup with nothing.. I'm offering him for £800 with everything to a good home where he can get the exercise and love he deserves.
