Description

The term alchemy is defined as someone who turns ordinary metals into gold. As an alchemist your passion is to change someone’s regular listening experience into a golden one. Thus, turning the ordinary to the extraordinary.

Growing up in church Gospel music gave Alchemy the ‘ear’ for music but he has never expressed it through any instruments or singing *plays violins*. However, Alchemy has wanted to DJ for years and after an inspirational trip to Sweden in 2022 he made that a reality from 2023! With influences such as Black Coffee, Kelvin Momo, DJ Angelo and even local DJs such as Dayday, Supa D and Pioneer, he was able to learn through an app on his phone which began his journey.

Embracing the melodic and harmonised sounds of gospel, but also growing up in London/Essex hearing grime, garage, funky house and deep house exposed Alchemy to a wide range of sounds. In addition, having a Caribbean heritage as well as having close friends from various countries further exposed him to more styles of music such as afrobeats, R&B and hip-hop. Leading him to becoming a well-travelled open format DJ.
Since 2023, Alchemy has worked the busy night life circuit of Shoreditch in various bars and even Tiger Tiger in Leicester Square. Toward summer 2023, Alchemy expanded his range by playing at shisha lounges/restaurants, where setting the ambiance and vibe were key to the customer experience this included playing with live performers. He pushed the boundaries further by delivering that same experience in cooperate settings for JD sports, foot asylum and Dr. Martens.

As Alchemy continued these venues throughout 2023, 2024 opened a new door which included playing abroad for a wedding! Most recent to note is Alchemy’s recent set at Netflix HQ London which has another door in his budding career.
Alchemy plans to continue to use this momentum and use his talents to see the world and develop an even greater appreciation of music. Even though some may consider this to be a late start. Alchemy feels he is just beginning…
