***ALL OFFERS CONSIDERED***
A beautiful Mid-Century Modern Rosewood Extendable Dining Table likely (but not confirmed) by Skovby Møbelfabrik, crafted in Denmark during the 1960s.
Previously owned and loved by a couple who bought it new in London in the 1960s, it was clearly a treasured piece as it is in practically mint condition, with no scratches or dents anywhere in the woodwork. It was also kept convered, so there is no discolouration, no mismatch in colour or finish between the tabletop and the extension pieces.
This table reflects all the hallmarks of Danish mid-century modern design, and is certified as such. Crafted from luxurious rosewood, the table's top has a rich, luscious grain, featuring bold patterns and natural tones that range from deep chocolate to warm reddish hues. The rosewood's intricate grain is highlighted by a smooth, polished finish. The central pedestal base, crafted to provide stability while maintaining an open, airy feel, further emphasises the minimalist and sophisticated character of Scandinavian design.
It has a clever extendable design – making it both versatile and space-saving. It can remain relatively compact when unextended, making it ideal for everyday use or smaller dining areas. However, the table’s true versatility lies in its two additional leaves, which can be added in stages to achieve three different lengths. And, reflecting the quality of the design and construction, the additional leaves fit like a glove.
Length without extensions = 120cm
Length with one extension = 180cm
Length with two extensions = 240cm
