Emeco ‘Navy 1006’ Chairs - Aluminium - Authentic

Description

This is an original set of Emeco Chairs, Model 1006, initially designed in 1944 for the U.S. Navy.

Modern builds are made in oak or plastic, here you have the original built from aluminium which will have gone through Emeco’s intensive 77-step manufacturing process, resulting in an exceptionally sturdy, unitized structural build rather than piece-by-piece bolt assembly seen on cheap lookalikes.

The are scratches & blemishes to the frame which only serve to validate their age. The gold label on the underside of the chairs show their origin from Hanover, Pennsylvania.
