This table set was bought in Iran by a friend quite a few years ago. It has never been used and has been carefully stored so the set is new and unused.

A lovely contemporary design with wide and interesting stitching plus gold thread Sermeh Doozy needlework in the centre panels. The set includes one tablecloth, two runners and two cushion covers complete with inner pads.

Please note that although I have listed the material as Satin I'm not 100% sure what it is.

Other than what I have read via google I do not know much about Termeh ware and have based my description on the following from the internet:

1- Pieces with lining are priced higher than pieces without lining.

2- Trim normally as the trim used becomes wider and more expensive the piece is priced higher.

3- Any Termeh with gold or silver fibres is priced dramatically higher than pieces without. The uniqueness and the designer’s attention to details is an important factor that should be considered.

Sermeh Doozy is a prominent needlework used in ancient Persia. It is an embossed technique used on expensive pieces of fabric and clothing ever since. The artist uses a threaded needle and passes it through small delicate pieces of gold embroidery tube (Sermeh) and sews and secures it to the fabric.

Please check out all the pics as I have tried to cover everything. In the centre of the last pic you can see a couple of spots on the reverse lining. These are the only marks I can find on the set.

Table cloth: 46" (117cm) x 46" (117cm) excluding the fringe which is 3" (7.5cm) long.

Runners: 24" (61cm) x 13.5" (34cm) excluding the tassels which are 7" (18cm) long.

Cushions: 16" (41cm) x 16" (41cm) excluding the fringe which is 3" (7.5cm) long. The cushion pads are included.
