EHSS Dual Site Advisor - Manufacturing -Rainham, Essex

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) Advisor to lead the 'Elevate EHSS' agenda across our sites. This pivotal role requires an individual to be the subject matter expert and first point of contact for all EHSS matters. You will be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring legal compliance, and driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing/industrial setting.

Role Title: EHSS Dual Site Advisor

Location: Rainham, Essex

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Key Responsibilities

You will be accountable for site governance, operational oversight, and ensuring competency across all EHSS disciplines.

Site Governance & Risk Management:

Conduct regular site audits against the ‘Critical 15’ standards and lead site-level risk reduction projects.

Audit RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for suitability and compliance, escalating high-risk issues promptly.

Oversee all statutory inspections and track follow-up actions to completion.

Operational EHSS Oversight:

Manage and coordinate monthly EHSS committee meetings.

Ensure timely and accurate incident investigations aligned with regulatory standards.

Maintain the EHSS management system (OPUS), logging and managing all activities and actions.

Audit EHSS compliance checks for contractors and maintain relationships with external service providers.

Training & Competence:

Evaluate EHSS training needs and address gaps by planning, delivering, and evaluating training for managers and employees, including new starter inductions.

Promote awareness and understanding of EHSS roles and responsibilities.

Legal Compliance & Reporting:

Ensure the site maintains full legal compliance with all applicable UK EHSS regulations and permits.

Monitor and report Environmental, Safety, and Sustainability (ESG) data monthly.

Cascade regulatory and policy changes to site management and stakeholders.

What You Will Already Have

Certification: NEBOSH General Certificate is mandatory.

Professional Status: TechIOSH (or higher) registration.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar UK-based EHSS role.

Sector Knowledge: Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is essential.

Legislation: Strong working knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Desirable Experience

Environmental permit knowledge (e.g., water discharge/TSS).

IEMA certificate in environmental management.
