Salary: GBP28,623 per annum

KUSCO (Kingston University Service Company Ltd) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Kingston University, established in December 1997. We are a non-profit making organisation providing facilities management and essential support services across Kingston University.

As a Customer Services Assistant, you ll be one of the key points of contact for students, staff, visitors and members of the public across the University's campuses.

The Role Customer Services Assistant

As a Customer Services Assistant, you ll provide a friendly, professional and efficient service to students, staff, visitors and members of the public.

Your role will be varied, with your main responsibilities focused on reception, switchboard or office administration, while also supporting other areas of the Customer Services team when required.

You'll be an important point of contact for the University, helping people find the information and support they need while ensuring reception and administrative services operate smoothly.

As our Customer Services Assistant, you will be responsible for:

Welcoming students, staff and visitors, providing professional assistance, information and directionsSupporting reception, switchboard and customer services across University campusesLiaising with Security and Campus Support during incidents and emergencies, recording and reporting actions where requiredManaging key administrative duties including car parking, ID cards, secure transits, lost property, work orders and general recordsAssisting with University events including Open Days, Graduations and Welcome Weeks, while maintaining clean, professional reception areasRaising and progressing orders, liaising with suppliers and contractors, and support purchase requisitions and paymentsFollowing GDPR and confidentiality requirements whilst completing training on new systems

What we're looking for:

Previous experience in customer service, reception, administration or a similar public-facing environmentGood verbal and written communication skillsGood IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and TeamsStrong organisational skills and attention to detailConfidence to use your own initiative and make sensible decisionsA professional, smart and well-presented mannerThe ability to work effectively as part of a team

It would be great if you had:

Experience working in a busy reception, switchboard or office environmentExperience dealing with a wide range of customers, visitors or members of the publicPrevious experience within a university, education, healthcare, facilities or large-site environmentExperience using call logging, ordering or administrative systemsExperience dealing with contractors, suppliers or external service providersAn understanding of confidentiality and GDPR requirements
