Customer Service Advisor
Hourly Rate: GBP14.73 - GBP15.72Location: Welwyn Garden CityJob Type: Temporary (12 weeks)Hours: 37 hours per week (full-time) Join a dynamic team in a pivotal role as a Customer Service Advisor within the local council. This temporary position is designed to provide exceptional customer service primarily to the residents of the borough, supporting various services such as Cemetery Services, Parking Services, Environmental Services, Planning, and Council Tax.
Day-to-day of the role:
Handle telephone calls and manage emails from the generic mailbox.Log complaints, comments, and compliments using systems like Jadu and Lagan.Operate the company switchboard and manage face-to-face interactions with customers at the reception.Maintain and update customer information on databases such as Lagan, Jadu, and Qmatic.Process work in accordance with agreed procedures and scripts, ensuring high-quality output.Resolve queries and escalate issues as necessary to team leaders or managers.Schedule and prioritise daily workloads, collaborate with team members, and distribute information as required.Identify and suggest improvements to enhance service delivery.Support line management with additional administrative tasks as required.Liaise with internal and external clients to maintain service efficiency.Ensure all activities are compliant with audit requirements and deadlines are met. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven attention to detail and ability to work in a structured team environment.Excellent communication skills, capable of building trust and confidence with colleagues and clients.Strong organisational skills and effective problem-solving abilities.Experience adhering to policies and procedures consistently.Desirable: Familiarity with call management software and previous experience in a contact centre.
