Temporary Works Manager

Description

We're looking for an experienced Temporary Works Manager / Temporary Works Engineer to support delivery of a major reinforced concrete package.

Strong formwork and/or falsework experience is a critical requirement.

Working alongside the existing Temporary Works Manager, you'll provide additional engineering, design and procurement support across a fast-paced FRC operation with multiple concurrent work fronts.

The Role

You'll support the Temporary Works function with:

Reviewing and developing Temporary Works Design Briefs

Reviewing formwork and falsework proposals for suitability and constructability

Supporting procurement of formwork, falsework, propping and associated TW systems

Liaising with specialist suppliers and Temporary Works Designers

Reviewing designs, drawings, calculations and technical submissions

Ensuring proposed solutions reflect actual construction methodology and sequencing

Supporting technical evaluation of supplier proposals

Identifying upcoming TW requirements against the construction programme

Coordinating design information through approval and into construction

Supporting resolution of site queries and design changes

Working closely with Engineering, Construction, Procurement and the existing TWM

Ensuring Temporary Works solutions are practical, safe and available when the site needs them

You'll Need

Strong formwork and/or falsework experience essential

Major reinforced concrete / civil engineering experience

Ideally an Engineering background

Strong understanding of Temporary Works design and constructability

Experience reviewing Temporary Works Design Briefs

Good knowledge of BS 5975

Experience working with specialist formwork/falsework suppliers

TWC qualification is essential

This isn't simply about administering Temporary Works. We need someone who can look at a proposed solution, understand how it's going to be built, challenge it where necessary and help the project procure and implement the right solution.

This is an off-payroll engagement. Circa 50 hour minimum working week applies and comfortable overnight accommodation will be provided in addition to the propose hourly rate.
