Our client is a well–established construction and property solutions contractor with a strong national presence, delivering new build, fit out and refurbishment projects across the retail, commercial, leisure and public sectors. Operating throughout the UK, they have built an excellent reputation for successfully delivering projects within live trading environments, maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service. The business is experiencing continued growth across its major retail accounts and is now looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to support ongoing works nationwide.

Site Manager Roles and Responsibilities

Managing refurbishment, fit out and maintenance projects within live retail environments.Coordinating subcontractors and direct labour on site.Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.Carrying out daily site inspections and maintaining health & safety standards.Producing and managing site documentation, RAMS, permits and progress reports.Liaising with clients, store management teams, consultants and project stakeholders.Managing project quality and ensuring all works meet required specifications.Organising site logistics and maintaining a professional working environment.Conducting toolbox talks and site inductions.Managing project handovers and resolving any defects efficiently.Monitoring programme performance and providing updates to senior management.Ensuring minimal disruption to store operations while working within occupied environments.

Site Manager Requirements

Previous experience working as a Site Manager within retail fit out, refurbishment or fast–track construction projects.Experience managing works within live and operational environments.SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.Strong subcontractor management and client–facing skills.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and programmes.Excellent communication and organisational abilities.Full UK Driving Licence.Flexible to travel and work across multiple sites when required.Experience within Tesco supermarket, retail, commercial or facilities projects would be highly advantageous.Must be happy to travel and lodge.
