Description

Position: Risk Engineer

Contract: 6 months Outside IR35

Location: Cardiff (Travel to project sites required)

We're recruiting for an experienced Risk Engineer to join a team delivering major electrical transmission infrastructure projects.

Working alongside Risk Managers and project teams, you'll play a key role in identifying, assessing and mitigating project risks, helping to improve programme certainty, cost control and successful project delivery across a portfolio of complex construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project risk registers throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate risk workshops with project teams, clients and supply chain partners. Produce and maintain Quantified Risk Analysis (QRA) for schedule and cost risk. Monitor mitigation actions and ensure risks are effectively managed. Support programme risk reviews, Early Warning Registers and stage-gate assessments. Analyse programme dependencies and recommend appropriate contingency. Produce clear risk reports and support continuous improvement initiatives. Work closely with Project Managers and Risk Managers to embed best practice across projects. About You

You'll have previous experience delivering project risk management on major infrastructure, utilities, energy or construction projects and be confident facilitating workshops and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.

You'll ideally have experience with:

Quantified Risk Analysis (QRA) Schedule and cost risk analysis Risk registers and mitigation planning Change management and analytical reporting ISO 31000 or recognised risk management methodologies A degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline is preferred, along with a professional qualification such as IRM, APM Risk or equivalent.

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites is essential.
