Supervisor – Social Housing Repairs & Maintenance

Location: Essex

Contract: Permanent

Salary: 41,000 per annum + performance bonus up to 15%

Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Supervisor to join a busy social housing contractor delivering reactive repairs and maintenance works across Essex. This is a key operational role overseeing engineers and subcontractors, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard within occupied residential properties.

You will be responsible for day–to–day supervision of operatives, monitoring job progress, and ensuring strong customer service delivery across housing association contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise operatives and subcontractors delivering repairs and maintenance worksAllocate and monitor daily workloads to ensure timely job completionCarry out quality checks on completed works and ongoing jobsEnsure works are delivered in line with health & safety and compliance standardsSupport engineers with technical guidance and job resolutionLiaise with tenants, housing officers, and internal teams to resolve issuesManage performance, productivity, and job completion targetsAttend site visits to inspect works and ensure quality standards are metSupport with scheduling and planning of reactive repairs

Requirements

Previous experience as a Supervisor or Lead Engineer within social housing repairsStrong background in domestic repairs and maintenanceGood understanding of health & safety procedures in occupied propertiesAbility to manage and motivate operativesStrong communication and customer service skillsFull UK driving licence required
