Job description

Our client is a social housing contractor seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to manage and lead directly employed trade operatives. This role is key to maintaining high productivity, service quality, and safety, while delivering a customer–focused repairs service. The role may include out–of–hours working on a rota to support emergency repairs when required.

Role and responsibilities

Support the Repairs Service Manager in delivering a first–class repairs and maintenance service. Coordinate with Repairs Schedulers to deploy operatives efficiently and monitor performance. Ensure repairs are completed on time, to high standards, and within budget, while keeping staff safe, motivated, and empowered. Conduct pre– and post–inspections for quality, efficiency, and compliance with policies and regulations. Inspect works on–site, manage complaints, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Promote and adhere to policies including Equal Opportunities, health & safety, and staff management. Support environmental policies and maintain up–to–date knowledge of legislation, best practice, and IT systems related to repairs. Monitor materials, stock usage, and operative performance against targets and budget forecasts. Undertake other duties as required. Requirements

Supervisory or line management experience in a reactive repairs environment with directly employed operatives. Building maintenance experience (social housing preferred) and familiarity with mobile technology and IT systems (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to motivate staff. Willingness to work out–of–hours when required. Full UK Driving Licence Benefits
