Quantity Surveyor (Freelance)

Description

A leading Civil Engineering Contractor are seeking a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor (Outside IR35) based on a project in Teesside for a minimum of 6 months.

Role objectives

* Manage the commercial resources (people and finance) of the assigned project to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.

* Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement policies for risk management.

* Support the authorisation and submission of project variations.

* Authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders.

* Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers.

* Lead a Commercial Function consistent with Business standards and objectives and provide Operations with commercial and contractual advice whilst determining risks, maximising opportunities.

* Assist Supply Chain in the procurement of supplier’s/sub-contractors/consultants. Establishment of robust and consistent change control processes on the project to ensure that appropriate changes/variations are identified and agreed with the Employer’s Representative.

* Mentoring and development of your direct reports identifying and implementing training requirements

Essential Requirements

* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).

* CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person).

* Proven experience in quantity surveying and commercial management.

* Strong understanding of contract administration, cost control and procurement processes.

* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Remuneration

£450 -£550 per day
