Description

Project Operations Manager | Knottingley | Long-Term Freelance (circa 2 Years)

Logical are working with an exciting client on an exciting project in Wakefield.

A senior site leadership opportunity on one of Yorkshire's biggest construction schemes. You'll take overall charge of everything happening on site, working shoulder to shoulder with the Project Director and Commercial lead. We need a leader who sets the tone, makes the supply chain deliver and owns the results.

Why this role:

• Circa 2 years of secure, long-term freelance work

• A place in the senior leadership team of a leading Tier 1 contractor

• Real authority over how the site is planned, set up and run

What you'll own:

• Total accountability for site delivery: safety, quality, programme and performance targets

• Pre-start planning with each subcontractor, so every package mobilises safe, resourced and ready

• Site set-up, logistics, access and welfare as the job moves through each phase

• A visible, hands-on health, safety and quality culture, led from the front in daily and weekly planning sessions

• Competent, appointed people in place for high-risk work: lifting operations, temporary works and permit-controlled activities

• Shaping the target programme and build sequence with the planning team

• Getting it right first time, staying close to the commercial position and flagging scope change early

• Strong, responsive relationships with the client and every supply chain partner

What you'll bring:

• A decade or more running major projects for a main contractor

• Strong civils, structural and architectural knowledge, xjnqpsq with a solid grasp of M&E interfaces

• Engineering degree or a time-served trade background

• A leadership style built on clear expectations, smart delegation and honest review

• Experience on complex, heavily serviced builds (pharma, life sciences, advanced manufacturing or similar) a real advantage

• SMSTS and CSCS Black (Manager) card

• Location: Knottingley

• Duration: Long-term freelance, circa 2 years

• Rate: Competitive day rate, DOE
