Description

Behind every well–run school is someone who sets the tone for the whole site. They lead the team that keeps the buildings safe, clean and ready for the day, and they're the first person staff turn to when something needs sorting. If you're an experienced caretaker or premises professional ready to lead from the front, this could be your next step.

We're recruiting on behalf of a well–established national facilities management provider, looking for a Premises Manager to lead the on–site team across a group of school sites in Bristol. You'll be responsible for keeping services running smoothly, to budget and to the standards the contract demands, while making sure pupils, staff and visitors have a great experience every day.

THE ROLE

– Leading and supporting a team of Premises Assistants across the school sites

– Overseeing day–to–day services such as site supervision, security, porterage and cleaning

– Working closely with the Lead Engineers so planned and reactive maintenance is completed on time

– Keeping a close eye on service levels and performance targets, and managing any damage or defects effectively

– Making sure all health and safety, statutory and regulatory requirements are met, using safe systems of work

– Keeping each site properly resourced with the people, materials and cover it needs

– Developing your team through regular reviews, coaching and clear standards

– Taking your turn on the on–call rota

WHO WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM

– Proven experience in facilities management, ideally in a busy operational setting

– Experience of leading or supervising a team

– A good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and COSHH

– IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent preferred

– Experience of building maintenance systems and coordinating maintenance work (knowledge of Concept CAFM is a bonus)

– Confident, clear communication with colleagues, customers and clients at every level

– Well organised, able to juggle a varied workload and deliver to time and budget

– A full UK driving licence and an enhanced DBS check, both essential

WHAT'S ON OFFER

– Salary of circa 32,000 per annum

– Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week (8 hours a day), on a shift rota with starts from 6am and finishes up to 7pm

– 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays

– Company pension, with 5% employee and 4% employer contributions

– Overtime available at enhanced rates: time and a half outside normal hours Monday to Friday and up to 12.30pm on Saturday, then double time from 1pm on Saturday and all day Sunday

– Wellbeing support, including a 24/7 digital GP service for you and your family

– Professional development, enhanced family leave and flexible working where possible

– A respected national employer with real scope to develop your career

If you're ready to lead a team that makes a real difference to the schools it looks after, send me your up–to–date CV and I'll give you a call for a confidential chat about the position.
