We have a new role for a static mechanical maintenance engineer to join at world leading University to be based at their flagship campus near London Bridge. Within this mechanical and plumbing maintenance role in London you will be performing a variety of maintenance tasks on the cutting edge facilities. Your static plumbing role will include:

Preventive maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of mechanical systems, including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, ventilation (AHU,FCU,CB) hot and cold-water systems, and plumbing installations.

Responding to reactive mechanical maintenance requests

Ensure efficient operation of plant rooms

Support water hygiene management, including temperature monitoring and flushing, in line with L8 / Legionella control procedures as well as carry out water hygiene risk assessment remedials.

To undertake training and qualify as Authorised/Responsible/Competent Persons as required.

Support apprentices or junior engineers with knowledge-sharing and mentorship where appropriate.

Forming part of the dedicated-on call engineering team with scheduled / rota on call weeks.

We are looking for a level 2 or level 3 qualified plumbing and heating engineer, with building services mechanical maintenance experience. To be successful in this role you should have the following:

Recognised mechanical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services / Level 2 Plumbing & Heating or equivalent)

Knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, hot and cold water systems, pumps, air handling units, FCU and chilled beams supported by strong fault-finding skills

Good understanding of health and safety requirements and statutory compliance in building maintenance

Experience in a mechanical maintenance role, preferably in a large or complex estate environment, NHS experience would be ideal

IT literate – Use of iPad / SharePoint / Emails / MS Teams / CAFM reporting

Legionella awareness and water hygiene training (HSG274 / L8)

Desirable experiece includes working within an educational or public sector environment, alongside steam, pressure systems AP, an understanding of BMS systems and energy efficiency and extra qualifications such as F Gas or a Level 2 in refrigeration or Air Conditioning. xjnqpsq
