Description

Maintenance Surveyor

Location: London / Hybrid

Salary: GBP47,000 – GBP56,000

Hours: Full–time

A growing public sector organisation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Surveyor to support the delivery of responsive repairs and property maintenance across a social housing portfolio.

You'll play a key role in diagnosing defects, managing contractors, and ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake detailed property inspections, diagnosing defects including damp & mould, structural issues, and building fabric failures. Specify remedial works that address root causes, not just symptoms. Manage contractors, monitor performance, and inspect works pre– and post–completion. Handle complex cases including disrepair, insurance works, and building safety issues. Support compliance with HHSRS, fire safety, and asbestos regulations. Contribute to planned maintenance and asset management programmes. Maintain accurate records and produce technical reports. What we're looking for:

Experience in a surveying or property maintenance role within housing or similar. Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, repairs, and maintenance. Experience managing contractors and ensuring quality of works. Understanding of damp & mould, HHSRS, and relevant housing legislation. Strong communication and problem–solving skills
