Description

Global Highland is delighted to be working in partnership with their prestigious client to recruit an experienced Maintenance Joiner to join their Property Maintenance team.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and customer–focused Maintenance Joiner to join a busy property maintenance team, carrying out high–quality repairs and maintenance across properties.

You will be responsible for delivering a professional and responsive joinery service across tenants' homes, communal areas and other properties. The role will involve a mixture of reactive repairs, planned maintenance and improvement works, with a strong emphasis on completing work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will be a key representative of the organisation when working in tenants' homes, so excellent customer service and a professional approach are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out a range of responsive joinery repairs and maintenance within tenants' homes and communal areas. Undertake planned maintenance, refurbishment and improvement works as required. Diagnose faults and identify the most effective repair solution. Repair and replace doors, windows, frames, skirting, flooring, kitchen units, cupboards and other joinery components. Install, repair and adjust doors, frames, locks, ironmongery and associated fixtures. Complete repairs arising from general wear and tear, damage and deterioration. Work efficiently to meet agreed response times and service standards. Aim to deliver right–first–time repairs and high–quality workmanship. Record completed works, materials used and any follow–up requirements accurately using relevant IT systems. Identify and report additional defects or repairs requiring attention. Communicate professionally with tenants, explaining works and providing updates where appropriate. Treat tenants' homes and belongings with care, respect and consideration. Work effectively with colleagues, other trades, supervisors and contractors. Support void property works, planned programmes and wider maintenance activities. Maintain tools, equipment and materials in a safe and serviceable condition. Follow all relevant health and safety policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work. Participate in emergency or out–of–hours call–outs where required. About You

We are looking for an experienced Joiner who takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering a high–quality service.

You will ideally have:

A recognised Joinery/Carpentry qualification, such as SVQ/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience. Previous experience within a property maintenance, housing, construction or repairs environment. Strong practical joinery and carpentry skills. Experience undertaking responsive repairs and general maintenance. Excellent problem–solving and fault–finding skills. The ability to organise and manage your own workload effectively. A professional and customer–focused approach. Good communication skills and the ability to work respectfully within tenants' homes. A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a wider team. A commitment to health and safety and maintaining high standards of workmanship. A full UK driving licence, where required for the position. Experience working within a social housing or local authority maintenance environment would be highly desirable but not essential

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established property maintenance team where your skills will directly contribute to maintaining safe, comfortable and well–maintained homes for tenants.

If you're a qualified and experienced Joiner looking for a new opportunity and take pride in delivering excellent workmanship and customer service, please contact Lyndsey at Global Highland
