About the Role:
One of my local goverment clients is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Homeless Housing Coordinator to join their Initial Assessment Team within the Housing Advisory Service. This vital role supports individuals and families at risk of homelessness, helping them sustain current housing or transition to suitable private rented accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver expert housing advice to individuals threatened with or experiencing homelessness
Conduct home visits and in–depth housing assessments
Apply the Homelessness Reduction Act and relevant legislation in case management
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners under Enfield s Early Help strategy
Prevent or delay homelessness through proactive casework
Assist with safeguarding concerns for vulnerable adults and children
Manage cases involving evictions, possession orders, and temporary accommodation
Essential Experience and Knowledge:
In–depth knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act, housing and homelessness policy, and case law
Previous experience working in a local authority housing team
Strong understanding of welfare benefits, safeguarding, and homelessness decision making
Ability to liaise confidently with legal bodies, courts, landlords, and support agencies
