Graduate Quantity Surveyor

Leeds

£28,000 per annum

We are recruiting for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction company based in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Quantity Surveying graduate who is looking to begin their career within the construction industry and gain practical commercial experience on live projects.

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and the wider commercial team, you will receive training and support while developing your knowledge of cost management, procurement, valuations and subcontractor management.

Duties will include:

* Assisting with cost planning and project budgeting

* Preparing and reviewing quotations and tender documents

* Measuring works and preparing quantities

* Obtaining and comparing subcontractor and supplier quotations

* Assisting with subcontractor procurement

* Preparing valuations and applications for payment

* Monitoring project costs and commercial performance

* Assisting with variations and change control

* Supporting the preparation of final accounts

* Attending site and commercial meetings

* Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

* A genuine desire to develop a career in Quantity Surveying

* Good numerical and analytical xjnqpsq skills

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel

* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

Previous construction experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as training and support will be provided.

Package

Salary: £28,000 per annum
