Description

We are currently looking to hire an Assistant or Deputy Temporary Works Coordinator to join our team in Port Talbot. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of a complex, technically challenging project valued at over 200m. If you have experience supporting temporary works on large-scale, multi-million-pound projects, we'd love to hear from you.

Why join us?

Since 1869 we've worked on building and civil engineering projects that have set the standard for others to follow - right up to present-day examples like the Eden Project, Olympic Stadium and award-winning new Bloomberg building.

We're looking forward with excitement to the projects and opportunities ahead. Our family-owned business is where to achieve more from your career by proudly building Britain's future heritage with us.

The Deputy Temporary Works Coordinator role

The Temporary Work Coordinator (TWC) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of temporary works on construction projects. This includes design coordination, compliance, programming, and assurance. The TWC acts as the key liaison between temporary works designers and site teams, ensuring safe and compliant implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Support the coordination of temporary works activities and help maintain the Temporary Works Register. Assist in preparing and reviewing design briefs to ensure alignment with site requirements. Help manage design checks, approvals, and the issuing of permits to load/dismantle. Support the supervision of erection, use, maintenance, and dismantling of temporary works. Contribute to inspections, audits, and change control processes. Assist in reviewing contractor or in-house designs and liaising with production and subcontractor teams.

Your Profile

Holds or is working towards a valid TWC CITB Certification (or equivalent) and CSCS card. Degree or equivalent experience in Civil or Structural Engineering. Some experience in temporary works on large infrastructure/construction projects. Strong organisational and communication skills, with a willingness to learn and grow.

Rewards

We're ready to invest in you and your future, and offer wide-ranging, performance-related progression opportunities. Our competitive rewards packages feature flexible benefits to fit your lifestyle and priorities.

We'd love you to join us in proudly building Britain's future heritage. Apply online now.

Sir Robert McAlpine is focused on being a truly inclusive employer, even if you don't meet every single requirement, we'd still love to hear from you. Especially if you're part of a group that is under-represented in Construction. Our goal is for Sir Robert McAlpine to proportionally represent the diversity of the working population in society. As a family-run business with strong family values, our aim is to ensure that Sir Robert McAlpine is a supportive, empowering and inclusive environment for every member of our team.
