Description

Conrad Consulting is working with a leading multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy seeking a recently Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) to join its established London team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Building Surveyor looking to develop their career within a collaborative consultancy environment, working across a varied portfolio of building surveying and project management commissions.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, build strong client relationships and work alongside experienced professionals, with clear scope for continued professional development and career progression.

The Role As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will deliver a broad range of professional and project-related services, managing commissions from initial feasibility and design through to construction and completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing a varied portfolio of building surveying and project management projects. Undertaking building surveys, inspections and defect diagnosis. Preparing specifications, schedules of work, drawings and tender documentation. Coordinating design information with architects, engineers, contractors and other consultants. Administering JCT building contracts, including contract instructions, valuations, payment certificates and extensions of time. Monitoring project progress, quality, costs and programmes. Carrying out site inspections, attending progress meetings and overseeing remedial works. Managing project risks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards. Developing client relationships and contributing to fee proposals, scopes of service and project programmes. Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the wider building surveying team. About You To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

Recently achieved MRICS status in Building Surveying. Experience in building surveying, project delivery and contract administration. A sound understanding of JCT contracts and construction processes. Experience coordinating design information and managing multidisciplinary teams. Strong technical knowledge, report-writing skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and client-facing abilities. The organisational skills to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines. A proactive, commercially aware approach and the confidence to work independently. Experience across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, public sector or heritage projects would be advantageous. Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, dilapidations, schedules of condition or party wall matters would also be beneficial.

What's on Offer? Competitive salary and benefits package. Hybrid working, with three days in the office and two days working from home. A varied and technically engaging project portfolio. The opportunity to take ownership of projects and develop client relationships. Supportive professional development and clear career progression. Exposure to experienced surveyors, major clients and multidisciplinary project teams. A flexible, collaborative working environment.
