Damp & Mould Building Surveyor

Social Housing Temporary (Ongoing) Up to GBP40 per hour

Office–based – Derbyshire Immediate Start

We're working with a well–established social housing provider in Derbyshire who is looking to bring in an experienced Damp & Mould Building Surveyor to support their housing stock on an ongoing temporary basis.

This is a long–term contract with a strong potential to convert to a permanent role for the right person.

The Role

You'll play a key role in identifying, diagnosing, and specifying remedial works for damp, mould, and condensation issues across a varied social housing portfolio. The role is predominantly office–based, with site visits as required.

Key responsibilities include:

Carrying out damp & mould surveys across occupied social housing stock Diagnosing causes (penetrating damp, condensation, rising damp, etc.) Producing clear, detailed survey reports and specifications of works Recommending remedial solutions in line with best practice and HHSRS Liaising with internal teams, contractors, and residents Supporting compliance with current housing standards and legislation About You

We're keen to speak with surveyors who have:

Proven experience surveying damp & mould issues within social housing A strong understanding of HHSRS and housing condition standards A background in building surveying, property inspection, or a related discipline The ability to produce professional reports and clear work specifications Excellent communication skills and a practical, solution–focused approach Relevant qualifications (RICS, CIOB, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience) are desirable but not essential if you have strong hands–on experience.
