Are you an engineer who enjoys understanding how buildings really work and how data can be used to make them better?

We're looking for a Building Performance Engineer to join a growing smart buildings and data–led maintenance team. This role sits at the intersection of building services engineering, digital platforms, and customer delivery, offering the chance to make a visible impact on energy efficiency, reliability, and occupant comfort.

You'll work closely with clients, analyse live building data, and turn insight into action.

London – Remote Working

Salary up to 80,000 Yearly Bonus Pension Scheme Remote/Hybrid Working Travel Expenses Paid

Responsibilities

Driving building performance

Monitoring live building data to identify inefficiencies and faultsTurning raw data into clear, actionable engineering insightsDesigning practical, data–led maintenance strategiesFault detection & smart analytics

Creating and refining fault detection rules within a digital platformEnsuring issues are identified early and communicated clearlyContinuously improving logic based on real–world outcomesClient & site engagement

Attending client sites to understand operational challengesBuilding trusted relationships with facilities and engineering teamsPresenting performance insights in a clear, professional waySurveys & integration support

Supporting surveys during tender, mobilisation, and live contractsEnsuring building data points are correctly mapped and understoodWorking closely with engineering and mobilisation teamsTeam contribution & leadership

Acting as a technical lead within a building performance service teamSupporting and mentoring junior engineers and advisorsContributing ideas to improve service delivery and platform capability

Desired Experience

Essential

Strong knowledge of building services systems (HVAC, BMS/controls, electrical, metering)Ability to understand complex building operations and dataConfidence using digital platforms, dashboards, or analytics toolsStrong communication skills with both technical and non–technical audiencesWillingness to attend client sites across LondonDesirable

Experience with smart buildings, IoT, or data–led maintenanceBMS or controls engineering experienceExposure to fault detection or analytics platformsExperience mentoring junior engineersCSCS/ECS card or similar site qualificationWorking towards (or holding) Chartered Engineer status
