Mid century Dunfermline sideboard by Macintosh

Description

Elegant, rare British mid century teak sideboard from the 1970s by Tom Robertson for A.H. McIntosh, part of the famous Dunfermline collection.

This large sideboard would also look beautiful as a large TV unit, record cabinet or in a large hallway.

Every detail has been well thought out, down to the removable shelf inside the large cabinet and the pull out small shelf in the drinks cabinet, to put your glass on to pour drinks. The veneer on each of the drawer front and door has been book matched to form a uniform pattern and is one of the most beautiful ones we have ever seen.

Handcrafted in rich teak, the whole sideboard has been fully restored with great care. The wood has been gently sanded and treated with hardwax oils, to accentuate its natural warmth and to give satin sheen. There is a small repair to the top on the left hand side, about 2cm x 1cm.

Two outward-opening cabinet doors reveal spacious compartment with removable shelf. The three drawers work well, the top one has its original felt lining. The right hand door pulls out to reveal a spacious drinks cabinet with a small pull out shelf with Formica surface.
