Ready to discover your funny side?
Join us for the Letchworth Beginners' Comedy Workshop - a fun, friendly and supportive monthly workshop designed especially for adults aged 18+ who are new to comedy.
You do not need to be naturally funny, have performance experience or arrive with a collection of jokes! These workshops are about learning together, trying something different, building confidence and, most importantly, having a laugh.
During the workshop, you'll explore some of the techniques comedians use to create comedy. You'll have opportunities to develop ideas, try fun activities, practise comedy writing and build your confidence in a relaxed environment.
The sessions are practical and interactive, so you won't simply sit and listen. You'll get involved, experiment with ideas and learn alongside other beginners.
And don't worry - there is absolutely no pressure to perform. You can take part at a level that feels comfortable for you.

Whether you've secretly wondered what it would be like to try comedy, want to become more confident speaking in front of others, enjoy creative writing, or simply fancy doing something different on a Friday evening, you're very welcome.
No experience needed. No pressure to perform.
The workshops take place on the last Friday of every month, starting 25 September 2026, from 6pm-8.30pm at Howard Memorial Hall, Letchworth. Each workshop costs £30, including refreshments and take-home comedy handouts. Places are limited.
