Vintage Solid Wood Industrial Storage Trunk / Coffee Table – Pub Salvage

solid wood and metal storage trunk, salvaged from a local pub and restored.

This is a proper substantial piece of furniture rather than a lightweight decorative box. Made from solid timber with black metal straps, corner details, handles and hardware, plus castors underneath so it can be moved around more easily.

The lid opens on hinges with a gas-assisted support, revealing a large storage compartment inside.

It makes a brilliant coffee table with hidden storage, but would equally work as a blanket box, side table, statement interior piece, shop display or prop.

The wood has a lovely distressed industrial finish and has deliberately retained the marks and patina from its previous life.

• 47 cm high closed
• Approx. 100 cm high fully open

Condition: Good vintage/restored condition. It naturally has scratches, marks and wear from age and previous use. There is also a split/crack visible on one section of the top (pictured), but it does not appear structurally significant. The chest itself feels very solid and sturdy.

A genuinely unusual piece with loads of character — particularly nice if you’re after an industrial / reclaimed look rather than mass-produced furniture.
