Description
Full size 4/4 carved cello Eastern European workshop (mid to later 20th century maybe 1960s-80s) very rich mature tone - £1475ono
A genuinely rewarding cello with a warm, resonant voice and an easy, responsive feel. This is a fully carved (solid wood) instrument—spruce top with maple back and sides—likely from an Eastern European workshop (Romanian/Czech) in the late 20th century possibly 1960s - 80s.
What sets it apart is the sound: it has opened up nicely with playing and delivers a fuller, more characterful tone than many standard laminate student instruments.
It’s an instrument that feels cooperative and expressive rather than stiff—ideal for someone wanting to enjoy playing and develop their sound.
Condition
* Structurally sound, no cracks or repairs
* Honest cosmetic wear from use (see photos), including varnish wear on the scroll and neck

Unlabelled workshop instrument typical of solid, well-made Eastern European production from the late 20th century, possibly 50s to 80s. A very satisfying player’s cello with a mature tone.
