Rotational Carer/Companion in Deal Kent

Our private family located in Deal, Kent, is seeking a dedicated and experienced hands-on Live-in Carer/Companion to join them on a rotational basis. This is an immediate-start position for a proactive professional who enjoys providing high-level companionship and care.

Working pattern: (2) week on / (2)week off

Accommodation: own separate bedroom and bathroom within main family home.

Salary: £1,295.00 per week totalling £2,590.00 every 2 weeks (depending upon experience)

Self-employed candidates are preferred.

Due to cultural reasons this role would be more suited to a male candidate

The ideal carer will work alongside an existing carer to provide seamless support for a gentleman. The role is a blend of traditional care, companionship, and light household management. Carer will also be looking out for / assisting the Lady of the house when needed. Primary care is to always be in the same place as the gentleman.

Whilst driving is not mandatory a driver with a clean drivers licence would be a bonus.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

Companionship: Engaging in conversation and activities (such as playing chess) and accompanying the gentleman to appointments or social engagements via public transport or taxi . encouraging daily walks / fresh air.

Daily Care: Assisting with personal care as required and managing medication administration. Making and keeping up with appointments both medical and general (e.g. hairdresser, podiatrist)

Household Support: Preparing daily meals and handling light housekeeping duties (e.g., laundry, changing linens, emptying bins). Doing food shops (with the Lady of the house) using sufficient petty cash or transferred of funds. Competent cook

Travel: Accompanying the family on seasonal trips (must hold a valid European passport).

The client spends time in Berlin & Greece (Rhodes) where they have residences and family in Germany. They also have a home in London where travel to and from will likely be needed occasionally.

Essential for the role;

Language: fluency in German not essential but preferred, general understanding / basics also good.

Background check: Hold a Full DBS Report

Expertise: Solid experience in private household care with valid certifications and First Aid training. Experience with dementia / Alzheimer’s. Experience / understanding of heart conditions – client has 4 x stents

Nature: A discreet, mature, and intuitive individual who knows when to engage and when to provide the family with privacy.

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
