Job Summary

We have a permanent position that has become available within an established team to provide care for a disabled man in his own home.

This position consists of various shifts over a 4 week period totalling around 89.5 hours (which includes overnights). Additional hours available to cover leave, sick, etc.

This position is in a home environment in the Nuthall area of Nottingham.

Working hours are on a shift basis of various lengths with days off on a repeating 4 weekly rota. This helps all our team to plan their work/life balance. There is also opportunities to accompany the cared for person on holidays.

Duties include:

Providing personal care (hygiene, grooming, dressing, etc.)
Gastrostomy Care (PEG Feeding)
Ventilation Management
Hoist transfers, ensuring safety at all times.
Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
Administer medication and monitor for any changes in health status.
Accompany to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure during transport.
Communicate effectively with cared for person, their family, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
Help maintain a clean and safe environment for cared for person by performing housekeeping tasks.

Experience and qualities

Previous experience would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided to any successful applicant. What is necessary for an applicant is to be at least 18 years old, to have a caring nature, be dependable and have a willingness to learn. Strong communication skills in English are necessary for effective interaction. Punctuality is also important therefore reliable travel to work needs to be considered.
