Pay: £21.61 gross per hour if self-employed or £18.16 if PAYE

• Location: London, Ealing W5

• Start Date: ASAP

• Hours and Days of Work: Thursday 9pm to Friday 9pm (24 hrs shift). PAs covers for each other absent.

• Essential Experience: Experience of working with people with physical disabilities, providing personal care and manual handling, using hoists. Living within a 30 to 40 minute commute of the family would be an advantage.

• Cough assist machine, non-invasive ventilator.

• Driver Required: Yes. Automatic adapted vehicle to use on shift.

• Family Pets: None

This man is 42 years old, is positive, intelligent and enjoys going out for walks, socialising, shopping, travelling, cinema and more. He has muscular dystrophy. All his muscles are very weak and he needs help with everything. He uses an adapted powered wheelchair and a ventilator 24/7. The job of personal assistant/carer (PA) includes helping with personal care, transfers, turning at night, eating, accompanying him when he goes out and more. He uses a baby monitor when at home to call the PA when he needs something.

The support worker will provide personal care, manual handling while helping to maintain his independence and continue enjoying his busy life. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, capable PA who enjoys making a difference in someone’s life, works well within a team and is happy to travel abroad for up to 10 days at a time once a year.

You must be allowed to work in the UK, be friendly, patient and have a good English. Employment is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
